Redbox is stating on facebook that they are doing a free promo code every month.  All you have to do is text REDBOX to 727272 and join the redbox text club.  Apparently the next code will go out tomorrow.  Anyone belong to the redbox text club?

Martins Doubles Dollar Coupons this week

If you are into coupons, Martins in Rising Sun is running double dollar coupons this week.  Here a few things to note:

• You can only double up to 4 $1.00 coupons per transaction after a $15.00 minimum purchase (before coupons). 
• However you can split your purchases up to maximize your savings. 
• I go through self check out and they are always really nice. 
• Similar to their regular coupon policy, you cannot double more than one like coupon per order.  So if you have 2 coupons for 1.00 of a box of pasta (example only) which would make them free, use one coupon in one order and one in another.  Hope that makes sense.

Upcoming Fall Parks and Rec Programs

Here is a link to the upcoming fall programs that the Parks and Rec is offering.  They have classes for children as young as 2 and adult programs too.  It's been several years, but I did take the adult yoga class at the Community Center and it was really nice.  Maybe you can leave some recommendations for others in the comments.

Free Breakfast at Chick-fil-A

On September 6th through the 10th, Chick-fil-A is giving away free breakfast meals.  You have to pre-register and sign up for a location and time slot.  They still have slots available at Elkton, Bear and the Christiana Mall.  Time slots are 6:30, 7:30, 8:30 and 9:30am.  You sign up, pick your location and time, complete the questionnaire and they mail you a coupon to print and bring with you on the day of your reservation.

Free Coupons and Samples

Here is a site called Making Life Better recommended to me by a friend.  On this site you can find samples and coupons for particular brands.  Right now there is a coupon for Lever 2000 soap and a sample available for Dove Conditioner.  I'm sure the promotions for different coupons and samples change frequently and I'll keep you posted.

PNC Checking Account Holders

Do you have a PNC checking account? 

They have recently upgraded (changed) the checking account plans and if you didn't upgrade to a certain plan you will no longer be able to earn VISA check card points after 9/12/11.  You do have until 12/31/12 to redeem these points which is nice.  Just a reminder not to let your hard earned points go to waste.

Take a minute and login and see how many points you've got.  I checked it out and was able to get 3 different gift cards to Target and Panera Bread with the points I accumulated.  It will be a nice surprise when the mail comes that day.

4% CASH Back at Walmart through Ebates

If you are a big Walmart fan, Ebates is offering 4% cash back right now.  I know 4% cash back doesn't sound like a great deal, but trust me it will add up quick and it was only 1% previously.

Walmart has excellent shipping charges and actually ships to the store for a lot of items for free. 

Now I wonder if you can purchase items online, use site to store shipping for free and then use a coupon on what you just purchased?  You do have to pay online, but like many other stores, Walmart may just refund you the coupon difference.  Anyone ever tried this?

Free Small Iced Coffee at Dunkin Donuts 8/29

Check your 8/28 Smart Source Coupons from the paper for the free small iced coffee coupon from Dunkin Donuts.  Actually there are two really great coupons for you coffee drinkers out there. 

The first one is for a free small (10oz) Hot Latte and that expires on 9/25/11.  The second one is a for the next six Mondays 8/29, 9/5, 9/12, 9/19, 9/26 and 10/3.  You can get a free small (16oz) Iced Coffee.  It's like a punch card.

They are coupon friendly at the North East Dunkin Donuts and hopefully elsewhere as well.

Free Redbox Movie at Walgreens

Free Classes for Any Age at the Cecil County Public Library

So I am a big fan of the Cecil County Public Library.  I rent movies, books, music and love to take my daughter to the classes that they offer for kids.  She's just now getting to the stage where playing the in library is cool and let me tell you, Perryville has the coolest kids section.  They have a little play boat (I think that's what it is), a kitchen, couches, tables, puzzles and really new computers.  While Perryville has a new and cool play area, I have to give a big shout out to Mrs. Susan at the Rising Sun branch.  She does an amazing job with the kids in all of the classes that she teaches.  CCPL offers 3 different age group classes for babies and toddlers.  Check them out, they are free and at least at RS they are all well organized and planned out.

Drink A Lot of Coke?

I Know You Shop Online

I know you shop online, but are you aware that you can actually get paid to shop online like you normally would? 

I learned about ebates.com late last year and was skeptic at first, but realized that it is as easy as it says.  To earn money, all you have to do is go to Ebates and shop through their website.  For example, if you are going to purchase something at Land's End, you would search for Land's End and then a new browser window would open up and you would finish shopping as you normally would. Currently they are giving 6% back for Land's End.  If there are any coupon codes to use, they will also list those for you as well.  Ebates then keeps track of your spending and once you accrue at least $5.00 each quarter, they mail you a check.  They are even giving away gift cards to Barnes and Noble, Target, Home Depot, Magazines.com and Ebates just for joining and shopping.  It's awesome, I've gotten 2 checks since I started.

No School Tomorrow and Staples Coupon

Just wanted to pass along a message from Cecil County Public Schools, that school's will be closed tomorrow so that they can inspect the buildings....

Tuesday afternoon Cecil County experienced a tremor originating from an earthquake which occurred in Richmond, Virginia. In order to allow time to further inspect our school facilities, the Superintendent has decided to postpone the opening of school until Thursday, August 25. School will not be in session tomorrow as previously scheduled. Schools and offices will be closed for 10 and 12 month staff, including Central Office, with the exception of maintenance staff and head custodians who are to report on time. No other staff members will be permitted to be in the buildings.

Free Sodas at Flying J and Pilot

Here is an awesome deal that I just can't get enough of...  If you are on Facebook, go here and like Pilot.  Once you do you can print a coupon for a free 44oz fountain drink.  Whahoo.  You can use this at the Flying J in North East as well as the Pilot in Perryville.  The Flying J in Elkton is not a convenience store, so it won't work there.  I've used the coupon at both and they are super coupon friendly.  Don't be scared to use a coupon, it's free soda.  They've been running this promotion over the course of the summer and I sure hope they keep it coming. 

Woah Earthquake!!!

What a beautiful day...

Looking for something fun and free to do with your children and get in some excellent exercise?  Head out to Nottingham County Park in Nottingham, PA.  I recently discovered the awesomeness that is Nottingham Park.  I love getting outside and going for a walk with my daughter and she in turn loves playing on the jungle gym and slides.  We both win.  I'm sure there is more to this park than just play grounds and the fitness trail, but that's a wonderful start for me.  The fitness trail is a one-mile gravel trail with work out stations along the way.  It is clearly marked at each quarter mile and the ground is good enough for strollers too.  I make a deal with Gemma, Mama gets to go for a walk and then she gets to play.  Love it.

Meet up with your besties for a play date and then get some exercise in.  Follow that up with a picnic lunch and one the many tables around.  If you are a regular to this park, what other fun activities are there?

I Dream of Saving

Ok, so I just read and FINISHED the book The Digital Mom Handbook by Audrey McClelland and Colleen Padilla.  I rented it from the library and figured it sounded interesting but like every other book I’ve gotten since I had my daughter, it wouldn’t get read.  Something prompted me to take a break and go out by the pool and read (aghh, memories of pre-baby lay outs with friends).  I started the book and it just brought out all of these ideas about blogging.  I’ve been following several particular blogs and sites for years now and check up on them frequently and I thought, why can’t I do this?  I’m not a writer, by any means.  Shoot, I still can’t even spell all of my words correctly.  But over the course of the next few days, while finishing the book, all I could think about is writing a blog and creating an awesome site where people can find deals locally.  So here goes nothing… I Dream of Saving.
